Mordheim - Campaign

Welcome to the start of what should be a (irregular) number of posts commenting on my involvement in the Mordheim campaign being played at my local club Huntingdon and District wargames group.

The campaign is being run by a fellow member (Kit) using his vast Mordheim resources and currently has six gangs with Kit also running any encounters with locals. The initial gangs are, the crew of the Pirate ship: The Dancing Corpse, a gang of Chaos cultists, some Norse raiders after pillage, My group of Reikland mercenaries from Stakenhoff's Bloodsoaked Charter Company, a band of Skaven and finally a group of Pit Fighters. The campaign is also open to anyone wishing to join in at a later date.

The campaign is being played out in the north of the city close to the river. All players have chosen starting locations which will be their home base for exploring the ruins and no one currently knows where anyone else is.

All the gangs are starting at a value of 750 Crowns but your home base must also be defended from whatever is lurking in the city. Do you dare risk sending out your whole gang just to find your base ransacked and your loot gone?

Rumours will appear about what is happening in the city, some known by all, some by only one or two. Players choices will determine who encounters who and what scenarios are played.

The starting match ups are known. The Pirates will be facing the Pit Fighters, The Rats will be facing the Wolves (Norse), the Chaos Cultists are facing some degenerate locals and my Reiklanders  have encountered a roving band of Orcs!

As I get the results of the battles/encounters I will post them up and any information I get that’s not secret.

Let the hunt for Wyrdstone commence!

  2. Oh I do wish I lived closer. Necromuda is my favourite GW game of all time. Mordenhiem is a good second. Good luck and look forward to updates as and when.

  3. Excellent. I never really got into Mordhiem I had it but never got round to playing it. I do like the background for it. The Campaign sounds like it will be lots of fun mate!

  4. Are you using the base rules or any of the update community versions?
Mordheim is definitely right up there with necromunda in my favourite games, but I really must say some variants do a lot to balance out the game issues. Coreheim was one and I think there is a new version used now. Warseer forums can usually point you in the right direction.
